📢 Important Weather-Related Dismissal Update Due to current radar forecasts indicating significant weather around the time of our 11:30 AM early release, we are making a few adjustments to ensure the safety of our students: 1️⃣ Car Rider Pickup will take place at the bus loop on the side of the school so students can be released under the covered awning. 2️⃣ Walkers and Bikers will not be released if it is storming. If your child typically walks or bikes home, you are welcome to come and sign them out from the front office. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate unpredictable weather. 📣 FMS Families: Important Info for Optional Early Release - Wednesday & Thursday 📣 Students with signed permission forms for early release will be dismissed after exams end at 11:30 AM. Parents should use the normal car line pickup process at that time. 🚗 If you did NOT send in the early release form but still wish to check your child out after exams, please park in the parking lot. Once the car line finishes, we’ll begin processing those checkouts. Thank you in advance for your patience! ✅ Staff will be outside to assist and answer any questions you may have. 🍽️ Students staying on campus will head to the cafeteria for lunch and follow an alternate schedule in the afternoon to complete any outstanding work. 🚌 Buses will run at their normal time in the afternoon. 📣 It’s the final week of school at Freeport Middle, and what an incredible year it has been! 🎉 Amid the excitement of moving into our brand-new school building and the completion of construction, our Bulldogs never missed a beat. Through every transition and challenge, this year has been a true success! 💪📚 📈 We’ve seen academic growth across all tested areas on state assessments — a direct result of the commitment and hard work of our students and staff. 🏆 Our Academic Team dominated this year, winning every tournament they competed in — both locally and nationally! 🎓🌟 🎶 We proudly launched our Chorus and Band programs, which have already seen tremendous growth and earned recognition at both the local and state level. 🎤🎼 ⚽⚾ Our athletic programs had outstanding seasons, including: Boys Soccer – CHAMPIONS 🏆 Girls Soccer – 2nd Place Finishers 🥈 Baseball – 2nd Place Finishers 🥈 🎖️ We were also honored to be recognized as a Purple Star Designated School, showing our unwavering commitment to supporting military-connected families. 🎓 Yesterday was a special day at Freeport Middle School! We were honored to welcome the graduating class of Freeport High School as they walked the halls of FMS one last time. 👏💙 These amazing seniors returned to celebrate their accomplishments, say farewell to the teachers and staff who helped shape their journey, and inspire our Bulldogs by showing what hard work and perseverance can achieve. Though FMS may have a new building, the same heart, spirit, and pride live on in every hallway. ❤️🐾 The legacy continues — and today, it was on full display. 🐶 Semester Exams Reminder! 🐾 It’s almost time to wrap up the semester, and here’s what you need to know about exams at Freeport Middle School: 📚Exam Schedule: Friday, May 23rd – Period 5 Wednesday, May 28th – Periods 2, 4, 6 Thursday, May 29th – Periods 1, 3, 7 📌 Important Info: Wednesday, May 28th, and Thursday, May 29th are optional early release days. Permission forms were sent home last week for families to indicate their child’s early dismissal option. Students will attend extended 75-minute class periods for scheduled exams and then be able to leave based on the option chosen. Students that remain at school on those days will continue through a normal school day routine. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the school.
