Parents and Community,
A sprinkler head burst in one of our 5th grade classrooms this afternoon after being accidentally hit. All students are safe. Due to the amount of water released, all 5th grade classrooms were evacuated prior to lunch. Students have returned to their classrooms this afternoon, except for two classes due to water damage. These classrooms were divided among the other 5th grade classes. School for 5th grade will continue tomorrow as usual.

We’re so proud to share that Piper Wood’s incredible artwork, “Balloon Dog,” was chosen from submissions across the entire county! 🏆 Her piece will be proudly displayed at the Florida State Capitol during the upcoming legislative session! 🏛️✨

💙🧡 Our Bulldogs Exploring Agriculture at FHS! 🧡💙
Our students had an amazing day at FHS, where Mr. Bates greeted them and spent the day showing them around their incredible agriculture programs! 🌿🐾
Our students started at the Aqua Dome, where they learned how hydroponics work and how bacteria, tilapia, and plants create a symbiotic system — science and sustainability in action! 🐟💧
Next, they explored the Agritechnology area, where students saw how small farm equipment like tractors and Gators are maintained and even how vehicles are taken apart for parts to sell. 🚜🔧
In the Forestry area, our students learned how pine straw is bailed and sold — those photos of them picking up sticks show how they make the perfect bale! 🌲💪
Finally, they visited the 9th Grade Agriculture class, where students saw tower and bed gardening setups and learned about caring for ornamental fish (the pretty ones!). 🪴🐠
It was a fun and hands-on learning experience that truly connected classroom knowledge to real-world skills!

🎈 Red Ribbon Week Recap! 🎈
With Red Ribbon Week wrapped up, we wanted to take a moment to highlight some of the awesome moments from the week! What truly makes FMS such a special place is how engaged and spirited our staff are with our students. 💙🧡
On Dress Like a Student Day (which our students didn’t know was coming!), our staff absolutely embraced the challenge and had everyone laughing. For Twin Day, our Dean of Students went all out as Gru, while more than 30 students showed up as minions — it was priceless!
Our Dress Like Your Future Self Day was another hit — the 5th-grade team showed up as a lively group “loosened from the nursing home,” while our 6th-grade team decided their future selves were ghosts! 👻
