🎉 Last week, we held our first pep rally of the school year, and it was a blast! 🥳 We were proud to honor our amazing cross country athletes, football players, volleyball teams, and our talented cheerleaders! 🏃‍♂️🏈🏐📣 The energy was high as we celebrated these incredible athletes and even got to enjoy some fun games that got everyone involved. 📣 Attention Freeport Middle School Students! 🏀 Boys Basketball Tryouts are happening tomorrow at the old gym at Freeport Learning Center from 3:00-5:00 PM! Transportation will be provided and students must be picked up from the old gym. ⚽ Soccer Tryouts will be held tomorrow AND Tuesday from 3:00-4:30 PM at the Freeport Sports Complex. Students will be escorted by coaches to the complex and will need to be picked up from the Freeport Sports Complex. 📋 Important Reminder: All students MUST have a sports physical on file to participate in either tryout. 📣 Exciting News at Freeport Middle School! 🏫 We’re thrilled to show off the addition of our brand new GAGA Pit! 🎉 This awesome new feature is quickly becoming a favorite among our students, providing a fun and energetic way to stay active. Our Cross Country team is gearing up for the Conference Championship meet at ECMS at 4:30. Let’s cheer on our boys and girls as they give it their all—no matter the outcome, you’ve already made us proud! And at 6 PM, our football team will face off against Baker at Freeport High School. Based on information from the National Weather Service and with our local weather partners, all Walton County schools will remain closed on Friday, September 27th. Tropical storm force winds and rain are anticipated from approximately 7:00 p.m. until 3:00 a.m. from Hurricane Helene. Closures are for all students, staff, and SPICE. Extracurricular decisions will be made by individual schools, including Friday football games, so please look to your schools for more information. All schools are expected to open Monday, September 30th. Stay safe, and continue to check our district and schools’ websites and social media platforms for more information. The Walton County School District took the 56th Annual Panhandle Area Educational Consortium by storm last week! The leadership of the WCSD has been hard at work all summer learning and making themselves ready to bring the best of the educational space back to our children!

The Walton County School District leadership visited the Florida Capitol last week to learn more about the inner-workings of legislation and how to influence legislation for the betterment of children. It was an inspiring experience for all to sit in the seats of those who represent our great state!
